Welcome to the herd
Why nigerian dwarf goats?
Nigerian Dwarf Goats are the smallest of the dairy goat breeds, making them particularly adorable and manageable. Packed into these tiny bodies are amazing characteristics, that make them the preferable breed in a lot of ways. Their milk is the most ‘human like’ making it easier to digest, and incredibly healthy for your gut. Their milk is naturally lactose free, naturally A2A2, and naturally homogenized. In addition, it has the most similar fat content to human milk. What does this mean for you? It means you’ll be drinking milk that tastes just like cows milk, but is significantly better for your health.
Why the sanborn herd?
Our goats are American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) registered! What does this mean? We keep meticulous breeding and health records, and ensuring that our goats are in peak health. We source local feed and nutrients to ensure that the goats are getting everything they need to thrive. We are also very selective about our breeding to ensure the desirable traits are carried on. At a minimum, all of our goats are bread to be docile and friendly. We also have goats that are naturally lacking horns (polled) and are blue eyed. Our milk producing goats each produce about a quart per goat per milking while in peak milk (some choose to milk once or twice a day). While every goat has its own personality, you can be guaranteed that a Sanborn Farm goat is going to be docile, friendly, beautiful, and produce excellent milk. We also lead our local 4H Goat group which can be found at several county fairs annually. We believe it is important to raise healthy goats, and teach others how to do the same!
